Statistics
The former GEP, the predecessor of the DGCP, had as one of its main areas of intervention, the production and dissemination of statistical information on the areas of operation of the MTSSS.
These activities are anchored in the decision-making process and in the design, monitoring and evaluation of policy measures.
Thus, in the context of statistical production, the body:
- Identify and develop appropriate statistical procedures for knowledge in the areas of operation of the MTSSS;
- processes declarations or reports from companies or other entities submitted to the MTSSS for statistical production;
- processes the information of workers, recipients of social benefits and pensions, individuals, households and other population groups for statistical production;
- handles administrative sources and carries out surveys, surveys and case studies on matters relating to the areas of intervention of the MTSSS, which are not subject to statistical exploitation by the other services and bodies of the MTSSS, and promotes the processing of the information obtained, for statistical production;
- draw up technical texts, summaries of results and publications relating to the operations carried out;
- develop procedures to maintain a general register of collective and individual entities, as a result of the statistical operations carried out by the body and within the National Statistical System;
- Develops studies on sampling techniques as a result of statistical operations carried out by the body and within the National Statistical System;
- Supports and monitors the work of the National Statistical System in matters relating to the MTSSS, ensuring coordination with the various bodies producing and disseminating statistics;
- It supports and monitors the work of international bodies, including Eurostat and ILO, in the context of their activities.
